Connectivity between educational institutions and students through Google's Teach From Home Hub
Teach from Home Hub is a treasure trove of information and tools aimed at helping educational institutions during COVID-19
Many educational institutions around the world have closed or are planning to increase their lockouts due to COVID-19. Therefore, a large number of students around the world cannot go to school. In Pakistan, too, educational institutions are facing difficulties in distance education, at an exceptional level, and this is the first time for some of them.
Google has developed a distance learning tool for Pakistan called Teach From Home, which includes information, advice, training and tools available on Google for Education to help teachers learn about their education. Provide support for activities, even when they are not in the classroom. These include:
Training materials on how to get started,
Best way to teach lessons with or without video call facility,
Advice on community building and engagement, and
● Step-by-step Teach from Home toolkit which can also be downloaded.
In addition, schools and other educational institutions can use the premium features of Google Meet video conferencing for free until September 30, 2020. These features include the ability to contact up to 250 people in a single call, record lessons and even stream live.
Google's Productivity Suite G for Education is also free for qualified educational institutions. Google has developed the Teach from Home Hub in collaboration with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, which is also working with other educational partners in this epidemic situation.
Currently, Teach From Home is available in English, while toolkits are available in 18 languages, and these toolkits can be downloaded. More languages will be added soon.
